It was my first commendation award and I was very nervous. We were being commended for our winning in the National School Individual Chess Championship in March.
When I was waiting for our groups turn, I watched as all the other groups walked onto stage and the leader received the award on behalf of everyone. When it was almost our group's turn, a teacher told us to line up and get ready. When we went up the stage, our group leader went to receive the prize and we took photos as a group.
